Programs for Graduate Students
TWM Graduate Fellowship
Do you want to become an educator who makes a difference? We are looking for teachers dedicated to bringing an excellent education to every classroom in our region. Join us by becoming a Teach Western Mass Graduate Fellow!
The TWM Graduate Fellowship is an applicant-based fellowship and stipend for students enrolled in the Smith College*or Mount Holyoke College Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree programs, or the University of Massachusetts-Amherst's TEACH 180 Days in Springfield M.Ed program.
During their Fellowship/Graduate year, students complete their practicum requirements in a TWM partner school. Throughout their practicum year, Fellows engage in TWM events such as Network Tours and the TWM Hiring Fair, as well as receive support in resume writing and interview preparation. Upon completion of their respective graduate programs, TWM Graduate Fellows seek out employment within the 29 Teach Western Mass partner school network and commit to teaching full-time for at least two, subsequent years.
In addition to a $10,000 living stipend, Fellows will have unique growth and learning opportunities through one-on-one mentorship, monthly professional development sessions, and continued access to TWM resources as they progress in their career.
Applicants pursuing high-need licensure areas are given priority in the selection process, and all candidates should exhibit a deep desire and commitment to teaching and learning in the communities we serve: Holyoke and Springfield.
*Of Smith College applicants, preference will be given to those who plan to participate in the Smith College Project Coach Fellowship.
